for ppl who use their folder for touring and put them in a hard shell suitcase...what do u do with the suitcase once u arrive at ur destination? where do u stored them? and wherever you stored your suitcase, any problem that it got stolen once u come back to collect suitcase? and wherever you stored them, how much do they charge for holding your suitcase and for how long?

Its highly unlikely the airport itself will provide this service due to heightened security. However, some larger airports should have independant storage vendors who can store everything from suitcases, laptops, boxed goods and even frozen foods. Here at Seatac airport, we use Ken's Baggage and Frozen Food storage. Expect to pay around $6-8 each day for suitcases.

This is a tough problem, as most airports removed their left luggage facilities and lockers.

Hotels/motels/hostels may take luggage if you stay there; another solution is to try at big train stations where there are sometimes large lockers. Even bicycle lockers will do if you can find them.

Set it on top of the trailer frame, throw my other luggage inside, and connect the trailer hitch on the bike's chainstay. If touring to a different ending city then I use the trailer/suitcase for carrying my touring gear. If going on a loop tour then I'll generally stay at a hotel the first night that'll let me store the suitcase there until the end of the trip. In that case I'll use panniers for carrying the gear.

The suitcase is a Carlton and I use it with the bike trailer frame sold by Bike Friday (Green Gear). The trailer frame has three bolts that extend through holes drilled in the side of the suitcase and secured by wingnuts inside. The bike and trailer parts all fit inside the suitcase (two cases are used for their folding tandem and these stack on top of the same trailer frame). See:

They're not cheap, I think about 6 bucks/day a day last time I used them, but very reliable and good workng hours. Available in most of the airports and train/coach hubs including Heathrow and Victoria; cheaper in the train stations.
If you don't use a trailer consider a soft bag with disposable cardboard stiffeners. Beverage stores and grocery stores tend to be reliable suppliers of cardboard for the return trip; newspaper will do in a pinch. Clothing and panniers of course help with padding also, wrap the greasy bits with newspaper for the trip home. Make and keep firm protectors for your derailluers. A bit of duct tape helps for the trip home. Crush protectors can be fabricated by rolling cardboard into stiff tubes and taping; leave flanges to tape to flat side peices.

I alway leave it on the hotels,in Bangkok I pay about 2us a day,I think that the Bike friday Trailer is no so good for dirty roads maybe I am wrong
