Greetings from Akaa, Finland

Hiya,

I registered on the forum a while ago already, but so far have only lurked. I have a cheap and cheerful road bike - a Tunturi Professional - with a frame made out of Columbus Zeta tube, an old Soviet trekking bike called the Tourist and a couple of other two-wheeled human-powered vehicles. As soon as I get 10 posts done, I'll post some pictures and further information on what I have.

Join us in C&V, we like all bikes from any year.

Pics of your area are also appreciated. I see lots of lakes around your area.

Must be a short riding season.

Thank you!

Dunno about a short riding season really - when you know of nothing else, it isn't that bad... also, Finland isn't as cold as one might think based on how far up north it is, thanks to the Gulf Stream's heating effect. The riding season is beginning now, next weeks forecast for the area is around 10-15 degrees Celsius. The weather will probably stay bearable until October.

And oh yeah, we do have lakes. 55,000 or so in all of Finland.

Let's try posting pictures.

Here's one from last summer. I had just gotten the Soviet trekking bike back together and went for a small test ride only to be caught in a rain shower.

Welcome onre! That picture above looks a lot like a typical scene in Oregon during summer. I would not have expected Finland to look so temperate.
