Carrying strap mounts!
This is the 1987 catalog- but look at the specs page for the Volpe- it describes what braze ons are on the bike. https://velobase.com/CatalogScans/1987Bianchi.pdf

They're really hard to see- but there's 2 braze ons- one just before the Bianchi logo on the DT and one above the ST bottle cage.
Going thru the 87 catalog it mentions carrying strap braze ons.
@Bianchigirll 's pix-

I had a ~1996 Volpe. It was a well made bike, predicable, stable, reliable. I liked it. But it was heavy. I used it well and then gave it to a friend. It also had the best paint job of any bike I've owned. It would hardly chip at all, and I'm rough on my bikes.

Heavy
I have bee riding it now and wondering about the heavy. Maybe should have kept my 80s schwinn voyageur, it did not have the front rack low mounts on the fork, or the cantilever brakes so I thought the Bianchi would be better for touring?? Having a bit of buyers remorse

I imagine it's great for touring. It was a damned good bike for me.

I worked out some kinks . It had toe over lap, but I removed the front fender and adjusted my shoe clips a bit. My toe clears it now by barely a 1/4 inch . Yay !! I hate toe over lap. Has any one tried different wheel set , say like 27s or 650 to get more clearance . I may just put a smaller fender and call it done. So glad I worked out the toe overlap so there is none .. I went for a longish city/bike path ride Sunday with the fender and found the toe problem when making hard turns, when crossing streets/bike path, almost a deal breaker on the Volpe. But after weighing it it is 30 pounds with racks and fenders . I figure any good touring style back will be that weight . So I am feeling better on this used bike purchase!!!

I wear huge shoes, and for medical reasons, I have to have my cleats way back in the shoes, so every bike I have, even without fenders, has toe overlap. It's a fact of life for me, so I deal with it. I'm not saying anyone else should, just that it's not necessarily a reason to panic.
