At the very least its a "FRANKANDRIA"... Sounds good. Fixing that crack should not be too difficult once you strip it down to the metal. All in all it will be a fine bike when your finished!

Made a down tube decal that you can get printed at a bumper sticker print shop out of vinyl. Also found a decent copy of the head badge see post #114... Good Luck.

Frankenstein + Flandria = Frankandria

Frankenstein being a term referring to a monster that's been sewed together from multiple pieces, like Frankenstein.

Thanks for explaining of therm!
I thought that there was some Frnakandria brend 😂
It is interesting that Frankenstein become a synonym for a monster that was created by Victor Frankenstein. In the novel, in most cases it is called a demon, or an enemy 😉

The typical name you'll see here is "Frankenbike".

I don't think it's a Motobecane, I don't recall ever seeing one w/Gipiemme dropouts at this level.

I get the impression you may be in Europe, can you give us an idea where? It may help nail down a more-localized name, in case maybe it's tied to a specific shop or something.
Also concerned about the crack. Careful

Hello again!
Just when i thought that search for frame origin was over, i saw some Bianchi 1987 catalogue. There are couple of models from that year which looks prety much like frame that i got. Columbus formula two, and Gipiemme drops. Models: Mondial, Giro, Limited, Trofeo..
What do you think?

-----

your frame exhibits details which are too early for such a date:

non-recessed brake mount

long dropouts

only one set of water bottle mounts

eyelets on frame ends

seems quite clear frame comes from 1977-80 time frame mentioned earlier

---

rather than spending your energies looking at cycles/catalogues online your inquiry would be better served by determining the thread of the bottom bracket shell

if it is BSC/ISO that would strongly suggest a Flandria parentage

if it is Italian that would tend to indicate an Italian origin although cycles with Italian thread shells have also been produced in Belgium and in Mexico
