That Chesini has the most beautiful handlebars - pity every thing today is 'anatomic'. I've held onto my old classic Cinellis. Beautiful bike too.

Trek 2300
i do not have a picture, but this is a sweet ride. 1992 Trek 2300 composite frame carbon. Came with full ultegra package and i have been in love ever since. I have road custom made cinelli's with campy outfit and all when i was on a racing team. I would choose it overall.
former state Champion

Also a sweet blue Schwinn traveler frame wearing a plethora of shimano jewelry, a 3T stem with Bontrager select drops at 46cm width. The wheel is a 32hole Formula high flange hub strung up to a Sun M13II rim. Red vittoria Zaffiro tire stretched around that. Now, outback it's wearing a 32 hole Ultegra hub strung to a Mavic Open pro rim with a red Vredestien slick on it.
I do a 30 mile round trip commute Monday through Friday and all sorts of running around the Twin Cities metro and not-so-metro areas on the weekends.
A falcon (bird) almost divebombed a friend and I with a pigeon it had in it's talons today. It was ....... one of those special moments in nature.
I didn't see if the falcon had the tassels hangin' from it's legs or not. I have a feeling the falcon may "belong" to my old biology teacher from high school that did/does the falconry thing.
This happened near the U of Minnesota campus which is known for it's raptor center. Which Mr. W was involved in.
He was an awesome teacher. He married this other teacher who was a total babe.

I love the Airborne Thunderbolt. Full Ultegra 10, Reynolds Fork, Bonti bits and pieces - for $1200. Frame isn't nearly as bad as you'd think, either. I got mine back in aught-three and it's still rockin'. I believe they're sold out now, though. Maybe try the spin-off company called Flyte?

Last month my grandfather asked me if i needed anything for college this fall. I told him i was looking for a bike, to commute from the dorm to campus(about 1.5 miles) and for general rides and fun. He went into his garage and pulled out his "old" bike, a Bridgestone road bike, i took it home to my father who determened that despite the dust and dirt on the bike, which he estimated to be 20 years old, had less then 50 miles on it. The tires had virtualy no wear, and the brakes were fine. We got it up to speed, put on new brake hoods(the old ones had melted away from years of garage heat) new bar tapee, new brake cables and pads, and we put on one of my fathers spare seats, a schwin racing seat, to replace the bizare two cushoned seat my grandfather put on to make the bike comforable in an upright posture. Here is what it looks like now:
Its a big bike, a 67cm frame, it fits me fine as i am 6 foot 6, i need to raise the seat a little but the seat post is two small for the seat tube(most likely came from that stupid seat he had on the bike prior) and is held in place with shims, after school starts next week i will get a new seat post and raise the seat. Aside from that the bike fits like a dream, i took it out on its first "ride" yesterday, through the city and along the water, a 20 or so mile ride(19.6 on comp), with my father. At 19yo this is my 2nd bike and first Roadie, i used to have a huffy mountain bike, and after a 5 year hiatus i am cycling again. I am confused however, as to what year this bike is from, its an Altair model, which acording to my research, wasnt a model offered, as all bridgestones were MB, CB, RB-1-2-3 or 100-200-300-400-700 etc. I havent seen any bridgstone with a "Name." The suntour BL derailers suggest 1981-82. Crank, Stem, Handlebars, are all Sakae Ringyo. My grandfather could only say "sometime in the early to mid 80's" So far the 20+ yar old tubes and tires are fine, though the rear wheel needs to be trued (came out of garage that way)
The addition of Toe clips/straps and removal of the kickstand are in the future.

I have a trek 2300 2004 frame with components from 2005 Trek 1500 i.e. 10 spd Ultegra etc. Frame is red and I really love riding the bike. \never thought of red handlebar tape, I may give it a try, love to see a photo of your bike.
Cheers

Beautiful Colnago, I like what you have done with it, less the Brooks (thats just personal preference). The Mavics look awsome on it.
Everytime I see something like that it makes me want to forget about building a new compact design bike and lusting after an old Master or new Master Carbon.

That could have something to do with the cable tension though. I think I have it a bit too loose when the thumb lever is clicked all the way.
I will say that i'm having issues adjusting to 50/34 gearing. The 50 is a bit too big to be in all day, and the 34 is too small. The compact replaced a triple, and for the most part I was able to ride in the 42 on it all day long. So...lots of shifting of the front derailleur is what I end up doing now.

Here's my new baby. Nothing special. Cannondale R700. 105 & Ultegra. Really neat Shimano R550 wheels and FSA Carbon compact crank set. This bike climbs like a billy goat. The ride is super smooth too. I was worried going from steel to alu. because everyone says that it is harsher, but not on this R700. Or maybe my butt is just numb. Whole thing weighs in @ 18.5 lbs. Not bad for a new bike.
