I like my brakes sqealing ....
Hi,
I ride for fun and fitness and generally don't aggressively
use the brakes, or ride aggressively where I might need to.
The onset of squeal makes my general style very conservative.
I like the "car crash" sound effect of having to use them
aggressively to slow quickly to counter usually someone else
doing something stupid, further comment is not usually needed.
They work a load better than any sort bell in an emergency stop.
rgds, sreten.
(please fix the missing "u" in the title)

My brakes on my newest bike have been squealing like no other but it is a dangerous squeal that also brings along a strong vibration which is not good.
If they just squealed, I would be fine with them but I'm not fine with how they shake my front end at slower speeds.

Had the same experience with my vintage 10 speed, before replacing brake pads.
Most effective with dog walkers on the MUP, as the animals responded before the owners.

For fifteen years my wife has bugged me about getting the squeal out of her rear brakes. Finally I replaced the notoriously noisy Matthauser self energizing rear cantis for an old set of LX cantis. She was very surprised last night! Man those things would really howl!!
