^^^ I am surprised that tube doesn't collapse. I would have thought it required a mandrell.

Cool gif though.

On second look, the static piece does seem to have some curved recess.

More Questions:

How are the top head bearings mounted?

How is the preload applied to the head bearings?

It looks like top bearings and nut and such are inside the head tube.

Thanks, Now it makes more sense, but i am still trying to figure out how the top bearing race seats inside the head tube. There must be some sort of ring welded to the inside of te head tube for it seat.
Makes for a very clean design, particularly if you ran some sort of cap to cover the internals.

I don't know, elevated stays on a track bike (pursuit bike?). Track bikes benefit from stiff frame particularly at the bottom bracket. Cool way to get a a belt on there though.

I also don't care for the wheels, a disc at the rear would have been more interesting and would have accented the e-stay.

that is what I think too. He now has 60mm CF hoops on it, but show rules stipulate that all components must be new/unused, and he already had these.

It's not a track bike, but rather a belt drive SS road bike. Eventually it will have Di2 Alfine.
