Weird hole in my bulldog mini
I got a Bulldog mini today. I noticed there was no branding, but a search result showed me that not all of them had it even though their website shows this picture:
Anyway, another thing I was wondering about is if all of them have this little hole on them. Here's some pictures:
and in relation to the key hole
Thanks for the help.

does the black part twist around? if so, that dowel pin is probably there to stop the twisting action.

Nope, the black part doesn't seem to twist. Also, I took the ends off but was wondering if there's anything wrong with leaving this exposed:

It's a roll pin, it's holding the lock together. Most roll pins go straight through whatever they are holding. the only way to remove them is to push them through the other side. It appears on your lock the hole doesn't go all the way through, therefore the roll pin cannot be removed, and the lock cannot be disassembled once its put together.

Mine's got it.

There is a hole like that in a kryptonite lock I have and it actually saved my ass. I was unlocking my bike one night and the key sheared off in the lock, I used a paper clip and just pushed the broken piece back out of the lock using the hole. Oh and it makes for a convenient means to get graphite into the lock cylinder.

I took the yellow caps off mine, haven't had any problems. I also removed the plastic mounting piece and cut the rubber off the u part so it fits better in my pocket.

Why not just use a sticker? I've got an Ubuntu sticker on mine and it sticks really well. Then you don't have to take stuff off to distinguish them.

How often should I put graphite (some sort of graphite based lube I assume) and where should I buy it. I never did anything to my last lock but I figure I might as well take care of this one.

Why should we be using graphite in our locks instead of just like... tri flow or something?
edit: I just read that the lube should contain 1 of the 4. Silicone, Graphite, Teflon or Paraffin.
However... I suppose Im still curious as to why one is better or why those particular ones?

It wasnt really an intentional thing, he just happened to have his off, so I've left mine on. I suppose eventually I'll sticker it up or something, but for now it does the trick.
