Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

What is an upgrade kit? If you want better wheels get better wheels if you want a lighter fork get one but always keep in mind, is the bike worth putting a lot into for upgrades or am I just spending money to spend money?

It may improve the bike slightly but if the bike is not worth improving you are better off spending the money towards a better fixed gear. Sometimes you can spend more than you paid for the bike new on other components and if it is just a generic fixed gear it probably might not be worth it.
