Waiting on the new bike...
... after my old one and I got busted up. Nov 29th I was hit by a left turning driver (so says the police report) on one of the local cycling roads. Driver fled!
First wear a helmet. I had a number of broken bones, and true Docs all told me the helmet saved me from massive brain damage or death.
Second back on the mountain bike as rehab, though my left leg is pretty weak. Also lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks so only a Clyde by height again now!
Waiting on a new Bianchi Infinito CV disc in 63cm. Of course, they dont import those into the US so flying pretty blind, but confident we can make it work once it arrives! Just have to wait for it to come into the LBS from Europe.
Hints on the waiting? Riding my MTB on slicks helps, but ....

I'm 245 and love, love, love my 61cm Intenso, the slightly downmarket version of the Inifinito. It's fantastic. You're gonna smile.

Thanks!! Figured I could afford one indulgence after the recovery. 12 weeks of no weight bearing was no fun at all, and not was the wired jaw!

Now I just have to finish the rehab on the displaced acetabular fracture/dislocated hip that was one of the less dangerous but longer lasting injuries from the bloody crash.
Oh. And wait 6 more weeks for it to arrive. Or, more likely, call LBS next week and say 'any update on delivery'.

OMG is that sexy! I might like that better than all Celeste to be honest ...
I've been kind of on the fence about that bike ... I waver back and forth between it, obviously in CF, or a Seven or Lynskey in Titanium.
I see the pic and I know where my heart belongs ... it's my head that gets in the way with it's logical thinking nonsense.

Now, though, the repair bill was as much as a new bike:
(More here: https://www.expatbrit.org/pictures/i...?/category/451)
The LBS and I talked about a Seven, but the cost was going to be out of my budget even in a relatively basic build, so I plumped for the bike I'd lusted after. Plus -- yes. I think it's a nice mix of celeste and black; I'm not a big black bike fan, so that made me happy. I looked hard at the Canyon Endurace too...

Yikes!
That's my fear too, about the Seven ... but gosh that's a nice bike and the whole buy once cry once thing ... plus, I'm approaching 50 ... a Seven could be the last road bike I would need to buy
Nah ... who am I kidding!
The Canyon is on my short list too ...
I have more weight to lose first though ... it's a reward for weight loss so I have some work to do first

I had my 56cm Ridley X-Fire, and could get walloped on my @jsigone on Strava.
the 2018 paint job looks legit!!! dope it comes with the deeper aero wheels from the start.

I'm not convinced it comes with those wheels. Spec calls for Fulcrum 5s, and I don't think those are Fulcrum 5s

Well, did you GET IT YET?
No, those don't look like fulcrum 5s. My new bike came with Fulcrum 5 - they look like your ordinary every day wheels. A little heavy but serviceable and certainly worth keeping around for spares.

Oh lord. 6 weeks more is the prediction. I'm not calling the LBS and asking for updates for a little bit.
Hence the 'how do I do the waiting'.
I suspect those are the Racing Quattro Carbons. Be nice if it shows up with those I'm not holding my breath - they may be the spec in some places, but I don't know.

6 more weeks? Good lord.
They probably have to build it to order in Taiwan and then ship it to Italy to get the "made in italy" stickers put on and THEN they'll ship it to you.
