I don't wear deodorant either but antiperspirant. I therefore don't sweat through my underarm. So no sweat, no stink.I'll sweat from almost everywhere else while riding but beside the private parts and under arms, sweat has no stench if dried quickly.

No, it's not.
Deodorant is better than antiperspirant

It's not that hard if you stop and think about it, but you're right most people never have. Antiperspirant is for making you not perspire. Deodorant doesn't stop perspiration, it just deodorizes it.

normal summer weather in the hot humid south. I change into biking clothes to ride and have access to showers at both ends of my commute.

"access to showers" is critical, I'm fortunate that my work also has showers. If my work didn't have showers, I probably wouldn't ever have become a bike commuter. Now that I'm in deep, I don't think I'd take a new job if they didn't have showers and safe bike parking/storage. I know it would take a HUGE pile of money to make me take a job where I'd have to drive.

Hmmm, that's an interesting link. Maybe the aluminum/antiperspirant thing is just a myth.
Some people are prone to believe every little scientific scare story that comes along. I'm prone to believe reports that such scare stories are bunk.

Yesterday I drove from CO to San Diego, all the way through AZ. It was in the hundred and teens all the way from before phx to El Centro. Topped out at 120 about an hour before sunset. It was wicked hot! I hope I never have to live in southern AZ. Flagstaff maybe, but not that burning hellscape

This easily. But it depends on how much you sweat. Just don't take over the bathroom and leave it a wet mess. It may be a challenge during the summer, but not an issue if you cycle in the cooler months where you sweat little if any. Luckily, a lot more employers nowadays are more accommodating with showers and sometimes even lockers.

116 degree ride home yesterday was a bit much. Brake levers were almost too hot to touch and my hot water was not very refreshing. Should only be 111 today for the ride home.
This is the kind of weather we usually have in June, but we lucked out with a really mild June.

Lately 90's in the afternoon going home and sometimes I just take the bus on for last 1/3 of the way avoiding the heat and the uphill climb part of my commute,

Funny you should mention that. There's a hill on the second to the last leg of my route home and I've though about just hoping on the bus to get up to the top of that hill. It a real challenge, especially at that point in my ride, but I figure a compromise at that point would kinda defeat the purpose.
