SRAM 1X11 converts ?
I’m am thinking about replacing Sram X7 triple crankset to a 1x11 setup. Of course eliminated the FD keeping the GXP BB a fairly straight forward easy swap. My question is how do you like the 1x11 setup? Gear ratios, shifting quality, etc etc.

I changed my '14 Trek to Shimano 1x11. I love it and won't ever buy anything other than a 1x setup again. Has great low end for climbing and top end isn't bad for a mountain bike.

I find the Shimano 1x kits more reasonably price than SRAM. I’m more of a Shimano fan basically because I’m more familiar and experienced with Shimano. Seriously considering switching the drive train to 1x11 just gathering to funds together after all the bikes in the stable get their basic maintenance.

I have the 12 speed GX Eagle on my Fuel EX 8. I have to say that I much prefer the Shimano XD on my cross country bike. It shifts smoother, shifts more positively and is quieter. I also prefer my Shimano brakes over the SRAM level brakes on this bike. Not digging my first time with SRAM so far...

With the wide range cassettes now available and small chainrings there is no reason not to have a 1x set up.
Front derailleurs and 2x and 3x will soon be a thing of the past.
After I converted 2 of my mountain bikes to 1x I tried to sell my front derailleurs, front shifter, chainrings in many different places...ebay, craigslist, facebook etc. I had zero inquiries after trying to sell the stuff for 3 months so I gave up trying and it all sits in a box right now.

I have SRAM NX 1x11 and like it a lot...it looks cleaner and works great...wouldn't go back. My last set up was a shimano xt triple from 2003.

I converted my Rocky Mountain Sherpa MTB to a SRAM 1x 11 speed last year, 32t front, 10-42 rear. I like it so much I am in the process of converting my Focus Mares CX, Cyclocross bike from Shimano 105 46/36 front, 11-28 rear to a SRAM GX Eagle 12 speed groupset 32t front, 10-50t rear. I am also going to a flat riser handlebar and SRAM grip shifters. I can’t get up the steep paved/gravel covered roads in the community I live in with the current gearing on the Cyclocross bike.
I love the simplicity of 1X systems, with the range they come in. I see no reason not to do 1X on a MTB/Gravel/Cyclocross bike. Flatter terrain on a road bike may remain a relm for 2x systems, but when conditions demand fast shifting between multiple gears I will go with 1X and grip or trigger shifters.

moving target
i came to it from a single speed, at the moment i only I have 28t up front and 10 - 53 in the rear still getting used to that small of a gear up front but it works fine for chasing people sometime, but i think i will be replacing it with either 32t or a 34t when budget allows
