Training in High Humidity and Dew Point
Hi
The past week we've been having 95% humidity during the day with 74 degree dew point. My workouts have been suffering mostly on the high effort intervals this week. i feel this is due the conditions im training in. Has anyone else experienced bad performance in high heat, humidity and dew point?

That's just crazy weather. I wouldn't exercise in that unless I was training to compete in the same conditions. Which I wouldn't do anyway. Every time I've trained or competed in that kind of weather I ended up with cramps or feeling so drained I could barely move afterward.
When the dew point gets into the 60s I cut way back on my effort. Our worse dew point time is usually mid-morning. Not hot but muggy and less wind. I'll skip most morning group rides and training in those conditions. I prefer hot and dry evenings when there's a decent breeze.

My take on this is to" forget hitting the numbers which you normally do when training in perfect weather" and continue training at a slightly lower intensity and volume. Training outside beats training in the comfort of your living room or gym...Continue training outside, don't worry if you suffer a little bit while doing it and you will feel a lot stronger when the weather gets normal.

Being in Houston not riding in those conditions would severely limit my outdoor cycling season. I just do it anyway and know I’ll be stronger for it in the end. To add insult to injury I’m NOT a morning person so I don’t get rolling as early as most to and end up finishing my ride in the hottest part of the day sometimes.

I find that I just can't do high humidity anymore. We have has stretches of days of high humidity. I just stay home and spread my wisdom via BF.

I continue to ride 100+ milers even during our 90'sF and high humid days simply adjusting my day's approach regarding results. Can't ride as hard/fast so start a bit earlier, as in 10PM instead of midnight/1AM. 18+mph average for cool days but 16mph on these hot/humid days. Legs feel like lead weights are attached with resulting higher heart rate for slower speeds. Sometimes jump into our pool to dry off.
