Jack passed during the night. Given his behavior yesterday afternoon/evening, I kind of expected it - he'd snuggle a little bit, but then he'd keep crawling off to a quiet corner behind some furniture. When the boy was getting ready to turn in for the night, I told him to show Jack some love and to say his goodbyes. I'm glad I did - when the morning rolled around, I think that the boy took the news much better than he would have, otherwise. Man, from four animals to one, in the span of a little more than two years.
I have a feeling that the boy is going to ask for a kitten for Christmas.

Datlas, A minor medical question for you. I had a bout of salivary gland pain in the lower jaw on the right side a few days ago. Any food in the mouth whether acid or not set it off. Really sharp pain. It was going on for most of a day. I did a little reading about it and saw that it was often due to a plug in the gland not letting the saliva exit into the mouth. After massaging and squeezing the area really briskly, the pain went away. Is it possible that I pushed out the plug in the gland. If so, I want to remember that. My dad suffered from it on occasion, and no doubt it will come back some time.

Just a simple fyi, with no attachments or boasts. My '92 Paramount, ready to ride with a Brooks leather saddle, weighs in at 21 and change. I'm just as slow on it as on any other bike. It Does accelerate nicely though.
