Rans Fusion with Seized Seatpost
I have a Rans Fusion recumbent bike it pretty nice shape. Unfortunately, I cant seem to get the seat to move. I have attempted using a degreaser and a slide hammer to get it out, but have had no luck after 2-3 days of this. The seat/seatpost does not much allow for the usual twisting you might with a normal bike. I can't post a photo because I'm too new here, but wondering if anyone might have any ideas.

A RANS Fusion is a "crank forward"- a little more upright than a recumbent but still laid back. The seat is mounted on a larger-than-normal diameter seatpost but the usual techniques should apply. Search in the Bicycle Mechanics forum for "stuck seatpost"- there have been lots of threads with all sorts of techniques up to and including destructive removal.
If it were mine, I'd find a sturdy bench vise. Remove as many of the parts as you can: seat, wheels, handlebars, etc. Clamp the top of the seatpost in the bench vise and use the frame of the bike to twist the frame on the seatpost. If that doesn''t work, fill the seat tube with penetrating oil, let sit a couple days, and try again.
If you destroy the seatpost in the process the RANS company is still around. A friend here in Portland is their Product Manager/Designer if you need extra assistance.
