Now Bettiol was luck today! lol I always like to throw in an EF rider.

@d(onaldo e)strong(o), your previously unassailable maglia nera perch is in serious serious achtung of being overrun by yours truly.
yatesie will finish the giro and get plenty of decent end o' tour points...better than carthy anyhow. your best cumulative stage 21 tt guys are
a dead heat with mine. we both have sagan and cavagna. even the questionable contestants in my immediate, straw-clutching range have an ascendant
(called it) almeida and/or powder-dry yatesie. if you can't be first, you may as well be worst. thank you for keeping the black
jersey "warm" and well-repped. at least it's slimming. #smallvictoriesdaily

cepeda is dangerously close to being added to the dtm (dead to me) list.

Cepeda did nothing wrong (or right). It's that pesky git that touted him who goes on the list. I'm looking for a hair shirt to penitence the naivete out of me. Thank you, sir, may I have another pick from the ether?

Kudos to our Simon for keeping it interesting. And Caruso for riding at a new level.

Almeida is going to keep me out of the running for a certain mark of distinction at the derriere of the bunch here. It's always nice to see some kids from our block make it into levels of excellence in the general population. Rob was in the clouds for a bit. Now we seem to be running around top and bottom 5% which will change, given the lack of end-of-tour points at the top and the presence of some at the bottom. We'll wallow in mediocrity together again. But it's been fun. You're all remarkable folks and totally there at the top of the bell curve in my book.

Yes...final points could have me ascending from the depths of mediocrity and I won't be sad to lose the only jersey I had a shot at. You are welcome to it. It's been an exciting race and I've been fortunate with my dual monitor set-up, to be able to see most of every stage while "working". In reality...my work day has been starting around 9:30 - 10:00 each day. Yates has been my one shining star...although he sits one point behind Sagan, who should also rack up some nice points with his...uh...points?

pre-stage twenty recap/projections:

yeah...it's down to two participants ftw...the potential wire to wire MTBrider or the ascendant canam73.
canam73 haz the more impressive stage twenty lineup but MTBrider haz the more impressive stage twenty-one lineup.
MTBrider hath the 471 point lead which may or may not be just enuff to hold off canam73's end of tour points.
it's gonna (potentially) be close...really really close. like historically (for our purposes) close. nail-biter. like 1-10 points close. wowskis.

yeah...it's down to two participants ftl...the potential, nearly wire to wire donald estrongo or the descendant (descendent?) ooga-booga.
as chronicled recently...much less of a nail-biter.

a bunch of abandons but most of us are still (currently) finishing with 7+ riders. there have been more than a few gt's where bunches of
teams finished with 6 or less riders. who was your overperformer/hopeful star that actually produced? personally...didn't have one for the giro.

the gc where the biggie finishing points all hang out...unless we have a third straight, (big) collapsable day from a maglia rosa-clad columbian, it looks to be
bernal yatesie caruso in whatever order you prefer but likely that order. almeida probably in 4th or 5th after the stage 21 tt. sagan needs to sew up that first sprint on stage 20
to win the points jersey and expecting bora to go all out to ensure that. we've got roughly 85 flattish kms on that first half of the stage.

stage twenty...do caruso and yatesie hope to hold onto their podium placings and ride conservatively or throw down and use house cashish?
*guaranteed horrible prediction*...ineos goes b*lls to the wall to prevent said throwing down and it prevents caruso from gaining any time but yatesie goes for it vs the
(ineos) machine in the last 8 km's...hoping to half his deficit to bernal of stage 20 and outdo him on the stage 21 tt and win the giro on the last day
at the last moment by < twenty seconds. here's hoping for at least half that drama.

Thanks for that awesome recap ooga booga ! Good to know I can jab my smart phone while trying to explain to my wife/co-workers/friends that I'm not the only one who's interested in this!

Bernal has that one-two punch of overall plus young rider which has proven to be potent! I am glad a spiced up my team, but I would've done better by keeping Jo縊 and not Remco. Originally had Bernal and thought the price was high but the points have proven otherwise. Max Kanter was a let down in fantasy world but for Romain Bardet he's probably a career saver! I'm never not picking Sagan again. Unless it's for the upcoming Tour where I'll overthink his form after the Giro only to be unsurprised by his wins.

Special props to my man Quinten Hermans! An anonymous pick (well I picked him for his CX experience) that finished 5th behind Victor Campaenerts and had a couple top 15 finishes. He's provided me with 319 points at a price of 4 vs Hugh Carthys 622 at a cost of 14. Herman's has done a fine job as a new WT rider and I can see him only getting better.

Goosens was looking good until the crash. Interesting that a lot of guys we saw do well in Romandie fizzled in the Giro. The Giro seems like the toughest Grand Tour attritionaly.

Who is this mysterious Pedro and will Hermans and Kanter do well enough in the TT to get me within striking distance of the podium?

There are four riders who have scored zero points. Cepeda did it while riding more stages than the other three combined, before his stage 19 DNS. It's a special talent.

As for the TT and GC, it would take a Rasmussen-worthy performance from Bernal to see a change in pink tomorrow, and I don't wish that on anyone. Even a quintuple Roglic would leave him free and clear. I'm sure some other top 10 places will churn.

I dissed Ganna at my own peril from v1 of my team. I will do so again for stage 21. The man has been impressive but he's been working an awful lot. I think it will be close but Cavagna will edge him out. In part because those points will put me lift me further into the heart of nondescript mediocrity in our merry band.

Lots of end of tour points to shake up our little league.ooga-booga has been doing some math and has it pretty well prognosticated.

MTBrider has a 305 point lead going into the final stage. to overcome/compensate for canam73's end of tour points from yatesie and bernal,
MTBrider needs ganna, cavagna and almeida to all finish in the top six or so on the stage 21 tt along with almeida leapfrogging the final gc
standings up to 4th or 5th. this is all potentially doable...even with ganna's previously-chronicled tired legs. even then, it's gonna be close.
bernal and yatesie finish 1st and 3rd on the final gc, that's 1000 points just from the final gc alone with tenacious o.
regardless of the final outcomes, it's been a wild ride. thanks for being part of it.

As for the tail end of the league, I didn't do as much math but it seems Ganna will probably keep you ^ out of the Maglia Marron, However, a strong showing from "my man Victor Campannutz" +/- a little nibble from the Shark for old time's sake and stubborn pride might make it interesting.

a big congrats to the maglia rosa-MTBrider/rob! held off the hard-charging the bounty/canan73 by 300 points to seal the deal.
team the bounty killed it with the end of tour points but MTBrider wrecked the league with that stage 21 tt pointfest.
team Daar heeft hij geen kaas van gegeten/Pedro Ximenz stayed steady throughout and completes the podium.

as for the maglia nera, Second String Fuster Cluck/Donaldo Estrongo managed to tenaciously hold on to the coveted jersey
despite my best/worst attempts to purloin it.

a big thanx to all that participated through all the rollers of this year's course. hope to see you in a month or so for that little
race in france. will try to run the velogames offering as well as the flobikes one (or similar) with transfers galore/whatnot.

All I have to say is wow, I can't believe I pulled that off! If this was in the Vegas sportsbook, I'd be there! Great competition, all !! That was an exciting 3 weeks!
I doubt if I will ever come CLOSE to these kind of picks again. I should "retire" right now.
See you all at LeTour!

Complimenti!

Especially well done in making me think I might have a chance there near the end. I really believed in myself there for few days.
