Your tool parts and the campy cups do look like a jewelry display, very nice. As I'm always interested in tools what make and size lathe do you have?

Seriously impressive. I think we need a "think up something rootboy can't make" thread.

Thanks again guys. Much appreciated.

I've got an old (1947) Logan 10 inch lathe. I also have a nifty little Craftsman/Atlas 6 inch lathe but I rarely use it.

Thank you Soylent and everyone else, for the kind praise.

Selling them? Well, if I had more pieces of that bronze with a hole through it I might consider it, as long as it would be to fit Campy Record head sets as that's all I have to pattern to. I suppose I could make some to fit 1/2 inch all thread rod but I note there's a guy selling them on ebay for much less than I could do it for.

Thanks for your interest but, can I interest you in some tire savers or a leather saddle bag instead?

One of the items I collected back during my TAP, tool acquisition period, was an old Lincoln stick welder. Barely know how to operate it. One of these days I'll practice with it, and get around to stripping the brown paint off that turtle shell. Would make a helluva wall lamp.

My next project on the lathe will be to build a dual purpose Stronglight / TA crank puller.

Most times I fire up the lathe I am just turning out small fittings and prepping frame and rack tubes.

Nah. Have better things to do. Found that big one inch pole line through bolt and built my own presses around it.
Kind of look odd together, don't they?

Maybe I'll have the bolt chromed some day.

If you can make one of those on a lathe, you're a better man than I am, Gunga Din.

Looks like it's time to make your own lathe. Mining your own iron ore and smelting it sounds like a fun challenge.
