Will a non-desconstruct roof rack (Yakima Highroller) fit with SKS Longboard fenders?

Hi, I'm kando. [Insert pic of Troy McClure.]
You may know me from recent threads such as:

Mechanical Disc Brake - Squeezed Brake With Wheel Off,
Car Rack for Bicycles (2014 Mazda 3 Hatchback Roof Rack), and
(Yakima) Whispbar vs Yakima Jetstream.

These threads paint a timeline of my locking into purchasing a Yakima Highroller.
It is a wheel-mounted roof rack system, which I thought would be convenient.

My concerns were raised, however, that my SKS Longboard Fenders,
which extend a fair margin down the wheel, would get in the way of the system.

Can anyone verify this?

Does a car-roof bike-rack system exist,
which does not require removing the front wheel, and
which is not obstructed by long fenders?

Bikeforums threads have addressed this before without a clear answer:

[2012.04] roof vs hitch rack for bike with fenders....thoughts?
[2012.12] Preferred roof rack compatible with full fenders?

From the [2012.12] thread:

Do roof racks in one brand tend to work with crossbars from any brand?
[Will this work with Yakima crossbars?]

no question, longboards will interfere with the wheel yoke on the back of the front wheel

Crap.

Anyone know of an alternative?

BITD, there was the Yakima Lowrider tower.. Fork tip clamp on a post, raising the front,

so all you took off was the front wheel & strap down the back..

Having something made is always an alternative..

I've been looking for a rack which doesn't require taking apart the bike,
but I'm not entirely averse to fork mounted,
once I know for sure that the former isn't in the cards.

(Trying to figure out now if Thule Criterium will work on Yakima crossbars.)

[Also, what does BIDT mean?]

Don't they have racks that strap to the downtube of the bike, as well as holding the front wheel from the front? I could have sworn I saw one like this.

Edit: Found it. Yakima 8002093 Raptor Aero - RackWarehouse.com

I've used one (not on my car) and it held the bike very well.

Oh and that bike in post #2 is gorgeous.

BITD means "back in the day."

I use longboards (and actually have a Mazda 3 hatch...) and use an older version of the Raptor, and they all play very well together. Just lift up the bike, strap down the wheels, and clamp the down tube.

Alright, thanks everyone.
So, in the search for a roof-rack which doesn't involve removing the front wheel,
wheel mounted racks are out, because of my fenders, and frame mounted racks are in.

This leaves the option for:

Yakima Raptor Aero: $120
Thule Big Mouth: $180
Thule Criterion: $190

I'm going to go with the Raptor Aero for it's lower cost.
Can anyone think of any reason not to, versus the other options?

(I have Mazda 3 which has OEM bars which are just unmarked Whispbars.
Whether I use Yakima or Thule, I'll need to also get the respective adapter.)

I think your choice will be fine.

The Yakima Raptor Aero gets pretty good reviews.
