I think there is a market out there for "collectible" vintage electronics. However, I do see a lot of recently obsolete electronics like CRT/projection TV's that people are trying to sell for top dollar. It makes me go hummm as well. They should just take them to the local electronics recycle center.

My second option for purchase at second hand stores are vintage hifi speakers.
At the moment I have a pair of Vintage Infinity Qe speakers, Ribbon Tweeters intact and working.
A set of 4 Klipsh KG.05's from the early 90's with sequential serial numbers, and a pair of Totem DreamCatchers + the Totem sub (2.1).
I buy and flip.
EDIT: forgot the garage speakers, a pair of Boston CR7's and a pair of Boston CR5's
