I retired in February and I usually do 3-4 rides a week 20-25 mile range with a little elevation. If the road commission would stop putting down chip seal on my routes I might do more.A decent shoulder on the roads is a rare thing where I live and traffic…don’t get me started

I currently average 3 short rides a week to get lunch or ride to the gym.
My goal for the Fall is to reach one hour ride.
4 to 5 slow leisurely miles maybe twice a week

Of course my ride takes me on roads and trails full of idiots, I just don't know their names. My life is just one continuous interaction with idiots. Geez...I wish I was in another simulation, this one is too frustrating.
Can you tell us more about your frustration with co-workers?
How does your ride expose you to idiots? You mean cars?

I ride almost every day between 18 and 25 miles in the early morning before the sun comes up. I am just over 5,000 miles for the year so far on my Giant Escape.

I tend to ride 3-4 days a week, depending on what I can squeeze into the family schedule. When I was riding only on the road, my goal was 100mi/wk, and I had a few weeks where I was around 150.. Over the last couple of months, I've been doing about half my riding days on my singlespeed MTB, which gets me approx. half the amount of miles for the same amount of time, so my weekly distance average is down.

A good week looks like this...
Tues - 10-15mi MTB. These rides are never easy (as far as effort level), but are always fun.
Thurs - 20-25mi road. Tempo effort with a few harder pushes, if I'm feeling it.
Sat - 15-20mi MTB or 50-ish fast/competitive group road ride.
Sun - 40-ish easy/social group road ride, with a few max-effort spicy sections.

It depends. If I'm training for a big event then I will try to ride 5-6 times a week. Most are short rides of 30-35 miles with one or two longer 50 mile rides.
If not training for anything in particular I only ride about three days a week maybe 30-35 miles each time and occasionally a few 40's.

My job allows me my 7 mile loop every work day. Weekends I try to get in a 20 mile loop each day. Too much stuff going on for more miles, unfortunately.
