Suspension for a trekking bike
Hi there,
I am new here. I live in Germany and I like to do bike tours on the weekends or for a few days. Like 50-70kms per day. Usually by road sometimes through the forest, dirt roads, gravel...
My idea is getting a new bike, a Müsing.
For the suspension I can choose between a SR Suntour NCX D LO, SR Suntour NCX D - Air RL and Rock Shox Paragon RL. I was recommended the Rock Shox. I never had an air suspension. It seems very cool, but I am afraid of the maintenance. I think I'll have to check it more often and spend lots on money in inspections.
What do you think?
What suspension would you choose?
thanks
regards

I’d go with an air fork with a lockout over a coil any time. Yes, there may be more maintenance for the air fork but, realistically, I’ve never serviced one of my air fork and most of them are more than 10 years old.
Personally, I’m not a fan of Rock Shox. The few Rock Shox I’ve had didn’t really lock out. Fox and Manitou have solid lockouts. I can stand up and pedal hard with both which isn’t something that I could ever do on Rock Shox.
