Holdsworth Flash

An email went out to the students at the college where I work about abandoned bikes about to be swept up and donated. Among them is this Holdsworth. I emailed security telling them I'd be happy to find a home for it. I am almost certain, however, that there is a policy against staff taking (or accepting from security) abandoned bicycles. I guess the question is, is the Holdsworth Flash worth more digging about where they donate them, etc. However it pans out, I think it will be a longshot in terms of my actually getting my hands on out.

I guess that depends how tall you are. That's a big bike. I'm about 6' tall and that bike would be too big for me. I see Reynolds decals on frame and fork, so it's probably a decent frame. But a big one.

Nice! It looks like a re-decalled Mistral.

Could be a later (1980s) Mistral, but if an earlier one would have either a wrap-over or fastback seat cluster plus the distinctive "long spearpoint" Prugnat lugs as shown in this catalog screengrab

Sure looks like a decent frame, already called-out Reynolds 531 decals, forged rear droupouts w/adjusters and integral der hanger, lugwork looks clean, no obvious crash damage. If it fits ya, good score. If not, snag it anyway and see if you can swap it for something that fits here. Or...let you local co-op have it, if my last suggestions sounds too...greedy? Opportunistic?

The angle is a little weird to figure sizing, I think it could be a 61cm-ish frame, which would be an OK fit for most average-build 6-footers. "Average build" meaning relative arm-leg lengths, nothing related to musculature, or lack thereof.
