Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's not real orange, but good effort, I guess.

At least it's not red.

No rain, but a cold front moved in and it's 55* and humid. Riding right now would require BarMitts. FML.

Enough to get you there, plus an additional 30 minutes of fuel remaining in reserve. 45 minutes if at night.

In that airplane, probably 10ish gallons then.

Lots of work to get done before going away + dark at 0630 + wet roads = fake miles.

Still raining here. Road last night when it stopped raining, but then it started again.

There’s a hill on the street that leads to my house, It’s not long by any means, but it’s the first hill that has any kind of climb gradient that I have been on. I’ve climbed it 4 times now and almost every time I have had to get out of the saddle. It is a very humbling experience.

Yep.

Good news is that we are "very well positioned" to buy in the range we were looking at.

But asking each other if we really want to buy a house and spend the next ~5 years here...gut kind of says no.

I substituted my usual morning ride with a game of wall-helmet and glove-shoe. Invigorating!

Fortunately it's not an area I normally ride. How fast can tigers run? Can they catch an innocent cyclist?

Seeing as I've been attacked by dogs, I don't like my odds against a tiger.

Easier than a guilty one, I would imagine.

Time to mow. The property is surrounded by woods where a hungry tiger could be lurking. The tractor's top speed is like 5 mph.

I had wondered the same thing, but unaware. Will stay tuned. Best guess is it was a careless driver. I have so many close calls with careless drivers that I sometimes think it's time to hang up the bike. I won't, of course. But the thought crosses my mind sometimes.
