1st race of the year and it was kinda nasty. Hard to tell in the pic but I'm squatted behind my seat, that hill was crazy steep as you can see the guy walking his bike behind me. 1 girl went over the bars and cracked her helmet, word from the people standing around there were lots of wrecks at this section.

The real question is: where can I get a pair of those arm warmers?

Trust me, I would much rather be posting DH pics, but here in Ohio, we have like one DH race and I know almost nothing about it. plus I dont know if it eve happened this year. Couldnt possibly justify even trying to save for a downhill rig. Someday. . .

^^ Hey, it's all good. I enjoy a lot of different forms of racing: DH, super-D, XC, even off-road duathlons. Next things I want to try my hand at are Xterra Tris and cyclocross.

Same here. I think Me and some friends are going to try an enduro next year (the longest thing I've ever done was a 6 hour race), If they allow under 18 that is. I really want to try 4X or DS.

Bought a new scanner last month and scanned some old photo's from the racing days in Kansas. For all you youngsters that Steve Tilford and I shot this on around 1992 at the Quivira Boy Scount Ranch in South East Kansas. Great race course and Steve is a real nice guy. He would show up for all the local races and kick butt, still racing today and pushing 50 I do believe.

Yah man! Didn't he win the first NORBA xc race or series or something like that?

I saw him riding a road bike down shunga drive (not trail) one day. I thought it was Ned, LOL.

Just googled:

4X US National Cyclo-Cross Champion
5X UCI World Champion MTB-Masters
3X World Road Team Member
1st NORBA National Mountain Bike Champion
Inducted into Mountain Bike Hall of Fame-2000

You should see the list of races he's placed in the top 10. Wow...just wow!
