You all make me sick with your beautiful roadbikes... Especially you with multiple! Makes me feel like a charity case the way I'm drooling.

This is what I'm currently testing out. It's the first road bike I've ridden, I've been BMX and MTB all growing up.

A friend of mine is having me try this one out and so far I'm pretty pleased. (Except for the fact that it has the name Raleigh on it 22 times. No I'm not joking.)

2008 Raleigh Prestige
It's full carbon with Easton bars, stem, fork and seatpost, mavic wheels, and Ultegra/Dura-Ace components.

I'm also going to try out the Giant OCR C2 and see if that's any better. Otherwise this will be my bike

Actually it's great. I had the normal version and Hated it, but for some reason this one seems to work. Still not as nice as the aliante, but I can't race that one because their is no room to move around on it.

Just finished building her the other day. Seems to ride okay. I'm not too sure of the Easton wheel set. They get really flexy above 40mph. It's my first wheels set that's under 1500 grams, so maybe that's normal for a wheel set of that weight. Got it just a hair over 16 lbs.

I put some lead fishing weights into the seat tube for stability. Seems to be working.

That bike looks like it should be a lot lighter, that's all. I just don't see what's on it that would make it that heavy...

It's all those spacers under the stem.

You nailed it UK That has to be why it's such a porker...

UMD, just out of curiosity, what are you used to to riding weight wise? Anything sub 20 is pretty light to me having come from MTB's....

I believe he can't actually state his racing bike's weight for legal reasons.

Not trying to peck a fight, the question comes out of genuine curiosity. Took a bit of coin to get my SS down to 16lbs give or take...

Fancy carbon frame, lightish wheels, SRAM Force, Fizik K1 saddle... I think its mainly the saddle that is throwing me off. A saddle like that is usually only seen on really lightweight builds.

My old bike, a 2005 TCR with Force, Ksyriums, and nothing particularly lightweight is 16.5. My Tarmac is... considerably less.

Damn you top secret guys and all your secrets!!! Oh well...I'll just continue to throw money away and hope that someday my bike will also weigh...considerably less
