The ones without the Open Core Technology (OCT) are stiffer; but I think all '09 cranks have the OCT so you will need to look for a '08 or earlier version.

Ebay has the pre-'09 versions for dirt cheap.

I've had a couple of Truvativ-based cranks including SRAM Force get loose at the spindle connection. Buy an Ultegra SL crank and you won't be disappointed.

i'm building up a 2nd crit bike (09 caad9) and I want to try something other than shimano.
