Original Trek Seat Tube Panel Decals - worth?
Found these while sorting through my stuff - Trek seat tube panel decals. Three different background colors: gray, pewter, light blue.
If memory serves, these would be for the handmade Trek frames, 1983 and earlier.
I have no idea what these are worth. If I sell, what should I charge?
Thanks in advance!

Really? No one would want original for a resto? Are the reproductions that good or that cheap that no one wants originals?

No reason not to buy reproductions; they're good and you can get ones to match.

Guess I'll put them back in the drawer then, in case I ever build up a classic Trek! Thanks, folks.

the sweet spot from velocals seems to be 10$ each. yours are listed @ 25$ : https://velocals.com/trek-seat-tube-wrap/
if yours are waterslide (not peel & stick), there's a good possibility they will shatter/ separate if used without some type of decal setting magic (beyond my technical skills to elaborate).
if they are peel & stick, the backing may not separate or adhesive hese.
probably better used in the trophy case next to the headbadges. but then again, the new ones "will turn heads" if that's your goal!

Interesting, thanks, southpier!
I have the peel and stick ones, not the waterslide. The backing comes off in three sections and looks to be in good shape. After 35+ years, tho, who knows.

Those decals were made available to bigger Trek dealers in the early 1980's because the mechanics would clamp bikes in Park stands and then twist them, which destroyed the decals. I still have a few in my stash of old and obscure items, along with a few of the Fuji from that era. Anyone doing a restore of the 1980's vintage bikes will want them. Average prices for these are about $12 per item, but you will need to find the right person doing a restoration project.. These are seat tube decals only and will require the correct Reynolds decals or the Ishiwatta decals to do a complete restore. HTH, MH

Thanks, Mad Honk and zukahn1!
Looks like the decals are from 1982. Specific frame & decal colors here if anyone's interested how the bikes were originally set up:
