Dahon Flatpak

DAHON Bikes:*Flatpak

Does anyone know if this can be used with a regular bike (non-Dahon)?

I have a Cannondale Hooligan but have to loosen the bolts on the headset in order to rotate the handlebars parallel to the frame in order to fit the bike in my trunk.

This solution looks easier.

Thanks

This says it can:

Final answer would be to check with Dahon.

As always, where there's a will there's a way.

Never mind, this isn't going to work for my Hooligan. Which has a headset of 1.5 inches in diameter, way bigger than a headset found on a typical road/hybrid bike.

But I do like that Satori headset/stem

SATORI - Riding fueled innovation

Unfortunately it won't fit either.

That Satori Stem is very different than the flatpack from Dahon. The Satori just turns around ... which is only a first step ...

The flatpack stem turns and because its angled just right will keep the handlebar level with the toptube and not one side of the sticking up into the air ... also it lowers the handlebar ..meaning you can turn the brakelevers out of the way, turn the handlebar in a swoop and its very compact ... other than that it works similar like a Andros stem ....
I expect to see some of them in late spring ..price ? no idea at this moment
its definitely for a 1 1/8 fork diameter

I prefer the Satori stem actually. More than enough, just rotate the handlebar and it's good to be next to the wall.

Def not. It's not designed for bikes with handleposts.
