New Cannondale Quick 1 finally arrived
My new Quick 1 finally arrived at the LBS shop today. Excited to get out and ride it. A quick ride around the shop and I was surprised how much nicer it felt than my older Quick 6

That's a nice looking bike! And it checks a lot of boxes for me IRT things I still want in a bike.
- threaded bottom bracket
- loose bearing hubs
- QR skewers
- standard (non-proprietary) seatpost and stem
- 105 components (quality)

Is that a 2019 model? Does not look much different than my 2018.

I am also trying to decide if I want to do any upgrades to it. Some of the things I thought of are as follows:
1. Clip in pedals and bike shoes
2. Normal style pedals but expensive light weight ones
3. Going from stock 30’s on tires to a smooth 28
on occasion my son likes to ride a loop around the park which is fine crushed compact gravel but most of my riding will be on the road.

I am debating a tire swap but moving up to 32s - a fair amount of my riding is on the local streets which are getting better each year but still rough in places.
I have considered pedals too but not sure what to choose.

#3. Dont go thinner. No need. Go to 35mm if you can fit that on your bike and you will prefer the ride more with very very little speed drop.

My rear tire had a decent sized tear in the sidewall, so I had to get it replaced last week. My LBS only had a 700x32 for my bike (vs the stock 700x30) so I replaced it with that. Have not noticed the difference yet after one day of riding.

Good looking bike
I really like the looks of the Quick. What size are you riding. I was told at a local bike store that the frame size runs a little small on the Cannondale.

I am 5’9 and shrinking(bad back) and they got me on a medium. Cannondale ran odd compared to other brands a few years ago but LBS said Cannondale has fixed that gap pretty well in the last few years. I love this bike so far after only 2 shorter rides between work and school starting craziness

I’m glad to see other people enjoying these! I just ordered one a few hours ago, a brand new but older 2018 model, the Quick 1 Disc Women’s for almost half of MSRP and can’t wait for it to get here. No idea what mods I may end up doing as this is all brand new to me, but watching your experiences and others with this bike is helpful.

Mine is a 2019 model. Cannondale warehouse had a few left when I ordered. I got mine for $1100 instead of $1400 for the 2020 model. The 105 is a great group set. I think you will enjoy it greatly

Also wondering how the full carbon fork of your bike compares to the carbon blades of my 2018. Hmmm.

Quick Release skewers are agnostic to direction of installation. I personally run my front ones like that as well, with the skewer being inserted from the drive side. This keeps my hands away from the brake disc, to minimize the chances of getting skin oil or other on the disc surface. Rear ones are almost always inserted from the non-drive side; the primary reason being the skewer handle will often conflict with drive side components (like the rear derailleur). However, when I run a trailer hitch receiver on my Roam, I actually insert the rear skewer from the drive side because of the way the hitch and the rear dropout interact (leaves no room for the skewer handle).
I'm pretty sure through axles are directional (as only one side of the dropout is threaded), but Quick Release skewers can go in either way.

I just bought the Quick 3 in the Vulcan Green Color. Great bike. However, I am going to go to my LBS to get a higher stem.Want the bars closer to me. Coming from a Trek, this is my first Cannondale. So far so good.

I love that green and had I purchased a new bike, the Quick 3 would have been my choice.

I just bought a 2019 Quick Carbon. I upgraded the tire to a Michelin 32mm because where I ride there are gravel stretches and just felt comfortable with a slightly wide tire. I also upgraded the pedals to a platform (Crank Bros.). Other than that, the bike is stock and I have already put 200 miles on it in eight days.

I went with the intention of buying a Quick 1, but the sale price for the carbon version made it tempting to the point I figured, go for it!
