A few from my home town, which I've been visiting for the last few days.

Nashville?

By the way this one and your screen name remind me; on a wet evening look at a leafless tree between you and a street light. The way the light refracts off of the wet branches makes the branches appear to be growing in concentric circles around the street lamp.

Allen, that's Murfreesboro, which is just a little southeast of Nashville. It's my hometown.

Here are a few from Seattle today:

It's cool how you make Seattle look like one of those unreasonably bright and colorful Central/South American towns.

A stray kitten who wandered into my garage this afternoon, then climbed up the persimmon tree in the backyard before lazing around in the sun for a while.

(It doesn't count as a cat picture if it's not my cat!)

Ooh, pretty cat!

And yeah, I guess that does sort of make Seattle look like it would be ridiculously colorful. And it is, but the X10 in Velvia mode does exaggerate. Here's some more:

*Note: This store actually IS this bright!

I think this girl is sticking her tongue out at me. I don't mind:

I've seen a lot of your x10 velvia mode photos and I always wanted to say that they actually look pretty good. I like how it balances color in a film sort of way. They got some good looking contrast as well.

I do like the Velvia mode, and I generally leave it on that setting. To me, it doesn't usually look like real Velvia, but I do like how it looks. The standard mode is Provia, and it looks pretty dull in comparison.

He was a strange one. He'd growl while rubbing up against my leg, then flop down on the ground at my feet and let me rub his belly. Swish his tail around while meowing at me. So, friendly, but bizarre. Hopefully he comes around again. I bought a small bag of cat food at the store last night, since I seem to attract friendly neighborhood strays anyway. Runs in the family, I guess.

I'm a fan. I love exaggerated, oversaturated colors in photos. Almost as much as B&W. I love both ends of the spectrum!

Browsing this thread again has me browsing eBay for a DSLR setup. I really should just learn to use my S90 to it's full potential first.

One of the most incredible sunrises seen from my living room this morning. Makes this common oak tree truly beautiful.
