Ok, you guys had me intrigued so I just spent about an hour combing over the website. Are they seriously claiming to be the only producer on earth that can produce mold free beans? That seems a bit far fetched to me. I can buy the argument that there can be quality issues, but this is across the spectrum, meaning some are going to be higher quality than others. I'm still skeptical.

Have been eating low carb now for the last three or four years, but never tried this variant of coffee, with both coconut oil and butter.
Grabbing another bottle of virigin coconut oil on my way home later today, so will try and mix it all in a blender as that website says.

Thanks for the heads up, fellas. (Also had no clue that coffee with added fats had a special name.)

The coffee does not really matter save for that you want a nice brew... with 1tbsp of butter and coconut oil and heavy cream you are looking at 250-300 calories per cup. The coffee is modeled after Yak butter tea which is served in Tibet.

I buy my coffee beans from a local roaster... it makes an awesome cup.

For people who are not practicing a lower carb lifestyle, you might find it to be a rich and tasty drink but if you mix fats and carbs you may have trouble metabolizing the fats as carbs trigger insulin production and this blocks the use of fats.

When you don't eat much in the way of carbs save for vegetables and nuts and don't eat anything with sugar the high test coffee is like rocket fuel for a fat adapted metabolism... grass fed butter like Kerrygold is best due to it's better fat profile over regular farmed butter.

I am at a point where a spoonful of virgin coconut oil tastes as good as a spoonful of ice cream and if I don't make coffee I just have a spoonful straight up.

The term Bulletproof (which I see is a registered trademark) has been adopted by countless low carbers like Coca Cola has been for that flavour of soda.

Quality butter, virgin coconut oil (a natural medium chain triglyceride), good coffee / tea, natural vanilla, and heavy cream make a kick ass drink... I pack it in my thermos on winter rides and also make it with quality chai which is closer to the original Tibetan po cha which has been served in Tibet for millenia and was / is a major source of calories.

If I could get Yak butter I'd be all over that...

Can't say I've been super strict since I still eat sweets every now and then, but I do use coconut oil and butter in my everyday cooking. My goal is moving towards a more paleoithic way of eating, but been having a hard time getting enough fat in my meals without dairy products. Whatever, what I'm trying to say is that I won't be having cream in that cup of coffee later on tonight. Thanks for the background info though!

On a 2000 calorie a day diet, those two cups of high test coffee provide 600 calories or almost a 1/3... some folks double the amount of oils they add per cup so that would be closer to 1100-1200 calories from a few cups. That is with heavy cream (35% BF) included and we don't do paleo as I am too old to chase the rabbits here.

Nuts are excellent although you have to watch the carbs and protein so that you don't overdo that... nuts sneak up on you because you can't just eat one.

Vegetables are an excellent butter delivery system and we also use bacon fat for roasting vegetables.

I take a lot of what Dave Asprey pushes with a grain of salt, after all he is trying to make money. I don't buy his products. I use good organic coffee (using this right now https://www.freshroastedcoffee.com/blackknight) and I use NOW brand pharmaceutical grade MCT oil not his overpriced Brain Octane. He has a lot of great ideas with research behind them but I'm not buying his overpriced products

And Kerrygold butter. Have to use grass fed butter to get good fats

Yup, had a pause from nuts for a while over here but now sloswly adding it back. Well, had a cup of coffee last night with my usual MCT coconut oil and good quality butter mixed in a blender. Loved the taste and consistency, although might be a too "heavy" drink for me personally at 8 PM. Thinking of making it in the morning instead, bringing it to work in a thermos. Thanks for the heads up on the drink, both you and rms13!

Amazing, when pouring and giving the head towards the end an awesome chocolate aroma. While drinking it, its like drinking bitter sweet chocolate. its like a dessert. I love it.

last beer was banana bread beer. Little light for my tastes but smelled and tasted quite good.
