Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Super six Evo and wider rims

Those of you riding older Cannondale super six evo's, have you wider wheels on your bike? Have you run into clearance issues?

Bontrager 25's on DA35 rims leave very little room between the seat tube and tire.

I had Bontrager Aura 5s with 23mm GP4000s that ballooned out to 26mm. That's as wide as I would go.

I have Velocity A23 rims on my 2014 Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-Mod and Conti 4000s. 23mm is as wide as I can get between the chain stays. A 25mm clears by a hair's thickness so too close for me.

Same here. I've gone to 23mm Schwalbe Ones in both front and back and have been quite satisfied. I do wonder if I had a wider rim than the Aksiums that came with the bike, would I be able to mount a 25 and not worry about it rubbing in turns? Anyone know?

I feel you !!!!

I have 2015 Supersix Evo Hi Mod. I was pissed when I found that most all the newer wheels , esp HEDs, were to wide re: external width. Only deep dish deeper than DA35 that fit are the Performance Bike Reynolds Four/Six.

Then, wanting softer ride for double centuries, also found that not all 25mm tires fit, sometimes only 23mm.

This is my only major criticism of this frame.

I run 25 mm veloflex roubaixs on my 2014 evo. There is still some room, probably could go to 27 mm.

tubulars.

My bike came with 25mm tires and there is extra room as well. I'm guessing 27-27.5mm overall.
