Looking for new tires...

I'm looking for some new tires for my wife's 10 speed. It has 700x23 on it now thinking of going up too 700x28. I don't want to spend a lot I'm not looking for top of the line just something decent. Looking for some recommendations.

Hard to go wrong with Panaracer "Pasela" tires.

Check to be sure that 28s will fit into the frame; alot of bikes are very tight at the chainstays or brakes.

Panaracer T-servs have good flat protection and seem to last a good long time. Continental Gatorskins. Vittoria Randonneurs. Schwalbe Marathons. All those tires have been good to me in the past. I would recommend spending a little more dinero in order to get a tire that will last and offer some flat protection.

You looking for mostly road riding tires?

+1.

Are you seeking a tire for wet or dry conditions?

Wet - Conti Grand Prix 4 Season
Dry - Panaracer Pasela TG

Either can be used yearlong.

4 seasons is over priced and only okay'ish for wet.

There are lots and lots of "decent" tires out there. For a good all-around road tire, I like the Vittoria Rubino Pros I've got on my bike now. 28's can be found in the ~$40 range.

I've been using the Specialized Armadillo and they've worked well on rough pavement. I wouldn't suggest using 28s though, quite a jump from the 23s, and, they don't seem to have very high pressure limits. The 25c in a flat protection, like the Gatorskins or Armadillos is what I would recommend.

These have always served me well. I've run them on my commuter and both of my sons run them on their road bikes:
