Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Smokin hot. Love the paint scheme on this frame. Fan of Boyd wheels. Appropriate gruppo. I like how the stem and seatpost work with the black on black wheels. Not a fan of the gold accents or cages. I love campy levers mated to classic bend bars, and would also prefer a white saddle.

It's the mount for my bike lock. Tons of bike theft where I am at right now.

Saddle is a recent addition, can't currently justify swapping out perfectly good bar-tape... gold bits were the only ones in stock... black was out... Red and silver seemed odd. The choice for gold ultimately came to matching the two bolts on the parallelogram on the rear derailleur. Was thinking of X-lab chimp cages, but these are from my old bike... cheapo... well relatively speaking

You see, when the other thread was started, long before this thread existed, it was much like this thread is now. Over time, however, it became more like this thread was supposed to be. The mods took exception to it and they demanded that the other thread be like it was, so this thread was created to take place of what the other one had come be. But now it seems that this thread has become like the other thread is now and like it used to be before it had become like this one was supposed to be. So they are now the same.

Simple, see?

Right on. I do think you pulled off the gold well without overdoing it. I highly recommend Arundel Mandible cages. Aside from looking great, they hold bottles like none other. A lot of pros use them on cobbled races.

I bet you it's a lock holder, and the background is most likely a college dorm.

It is indeed a lock holder, and it is a dorm, but it's a military dorm.

Personally, I don't like the gumwalls. Also don't like the seat post... it's just weird looking. And the red bits are, not quite there but almost... AND I don't like the shape of the cages - But that bike is still smoking hot! Cinelli and Shiny and the Ghost decals... drooooooool. Nice bike! Vedy, vedy hot.

At the time, the Thompson was the only 31.6mm silver post with offset. May still be. Fit first. And I respectfully disagree about the cages. The Nitto R cage has the most elegant bend for a stainless cage.

Don't get me wrong, I love the bike. My point was that it breaks a lot of 'rules' (like bartape and seat must be the same color) but still remains very hot. Those things I mentioned were just nitpicking...

Well, in full confession, I do think it could actually be hotter with black tires...

I concede black tires could be a better choice, but I wanted a bit of old school in the bike. And for the record, the "Z" in the Zoncolan seat logo is red.
