Best kneewarmers?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best kneewarmers?

I have a pair of Pearl Izumi's older Thermal Elite ones with the wide inside gripper (before they changed to the combo interior and exterior silicone grippers). They don't slip too badly on me as I yank them up pretty high and wear a tighter fitting pair (medium, when I wear large in everything else PI). The problem is that they get all baggy around the knees with a few miles.

Any recos for ones that stay form-fitting and sleek? I haven't tried PI's newer Thermal Elite design yet. Thanks in advance.

I wear these: Kneekers Black

They last a couple years before they stretch out. I wore an old pair this weekend and it was a little baggy in the knee.

I've been really happy with Castelli Nanoflex knee warmers

Another vote for Garneau. Mine from last year still stay put and look great. Picked up a pair of yellow kneekers as a backup, but have only worn them a few times.

Defeet Kneekers if there's no chance of taking them off during a ride - a bit bulky for jersey pockets. I have a pair of Louis Garneau 2s for rides in warmer temps, that do stash well in jersey.

I tend to go with whatever I can find on clearance.

I've been happy with PI, Specialized, Descente and LG.

The Descentes tend to be my go to option though as they fit best.

Your best bet would be to have everyone post photographs of their bare knees. Then you could compare to find the one that looks most like your own... we would also need a photograph of your knee. Maybe do a poll to see who wins.

I have a pair of PI, hate 'em. I don't like constantly pulling them up, retucking etc. Blech.

I have a pair of Giordano, love 'em. They don't feel as stiff, they're just as warm and they stay put.

I have two pairs of DeFeet Kneekers Wool that I like very much. I love that they keep my knees warm, and when the temperature even climbs up later, I don't have to remove them. I guess the wool is just great material for riding in Southern California. Good stuff!

Also watch out for knee warmers that can irritate the back of your knees. I have one from ProBikeKit like that. It is made of great looking materials, but it just irritated the crap out of the back of my knees with every pedal stroke.

Have exactly the same problem with my PIs. No good for rides longer than 20 miles if even.
