While I’m waiting for my new Lynskey Ti gravel bike to arrive (in a week I hope), I amassed a pile of support stuff. Today’s haul came in the form of the Topeak Joe Blow Booster pump, Kom Cycling tubeless repair kit and Tubolito spare tube. That was $200 alone. I did a test pump to charge the chamber to 160psi and I barely got there. This pump is BURLY and probably requires a more in-depth review with more pics. Other recent new buys are the Shimano EH500 SPD pedals, Giro Cylinder mtn shoes, Stan’s sealant and rim tape, and Icetoolz nm torque wrench. I’ve got a problem.

I bought a booster last year and love it. Only used the boost twice since seating tires really isn't something I do a lot, but its super easy.
I bought it since my pump was old and its been a great every day pump. Long line, easy chuck, and small deflation adjustments make for a great pump.

Not sure what you mean? The hubs are marked 350, as other DT hubs are, altho I do like that these are in grey instead of the white that they usually are.

Mid-season rebuild for my Raleigh Tamland. Hydraulic levers / calipers to replace a cable actuated setup that has been having some issues lately, a better quality stem to replace a cheap China alloy stem that was used for fitting 4,000 miles ago, and a Satori Trident carbon seatpost to replace the OE alloy one. The seatpost feels like a bit of a gamble, but I think Satori is fairly reputable as an OE parts producer.

I ordered some cheap Chinese copy of this bell on Amazon. Piece of crap. The cutouts in the slider plate that clamps the spring band weren’t cut precisely. Spent almost an hour getting it attached to the bars. Ended up reshaping the spring band with pliers to get it to work. Wish I just sprung for the legit original product.

XT 11-40 11s cassette. Just threw installed it, and learned that 11s mtb freehubs are slightly narrower than 11s road freehubs. The more you know!

Now I'm on the hunt for an LBS that has a freehub spacer in stock!

Yep, this is why they fit on 10s road freehubs.

I like it a lot. It's plenty big, any taller / bigger and it would get in my way. But it is not too big, it's just right for me and didn't get in my way out of the saddle or sitting. Used it on a gravel ride this weekend and it had a small bottle of Orange Seal, C02 inflater, credit card and cash, mask, and a few SIS Bars in it with room a little room to spare. The magnetic latch stayed closed no problem for the 50 miles we did including plenty of rough stuff. I don't think you would be disappointed if you get it.

Got a "cheap" $200 front wheel for winter. New DT Swiss Gravel 1800. Dang, with that 24mm internal width, my tires really plump up. Perfect for tires around 40mm.

Time for a drivetrain upgrade on my Trek Checkpoint ALR5!

I have the 2019 model which came stock with Shimano 105, and as soon as the 46/30 GRX cranksets were available last year, I had swapped that out for some lower gearing. Now I'm going even lower so I can climb *moar hills*. This weekend I'll be installing a GRX 810 rear derailleur, new chain, and new XT 11-40t cassettes on my two wheelsets.

So far excellent. If you still have the mechanical Spyre brakes, the difference in brake feel / bite is night and day. My only gripe, and this is minor even though I shift a lot to maintain an even cadence, is that these non-series levers only upshift 2 cogs at a time, which is weird since the 5800 levers did 3. Seatpost has also been great even though I am riding a bike that is probably a bit too large w/o a ton of seatpost sticking out. The vibration level is way down on my fairly stiff Fizik Argo Vento saddle. I guess the stem is just a stem, but I have more faith in it than a $10 eBay stem, and it's a smaller diameter tube that looks more in place with the classic steel tubing profile of the Tamland.

Edit* - Was also going to add that if you're thinking about getting this ST-RS685 / BR-RS785 kit, the hoses don't even have to be cut for the Tamland on a 42cm handlebar. They are pretty much the perfect length from the box.

'cause its for my rough road fat tire, and I can only fit fat up front. I don't particularly like to go bigger than 40mm on the rear anyway (too much power loss).
