Focus Izalco Race 2018
I'm looking at buying a new bike to use for racing and training. After a visit to my LBS, My best option seems to be a Focus Izalco Race r8000. I've only been able to find one review of the bike, and that was of the sora version. Does anyone have experience with an Izalco Race? I also can't find anywhere that gives a weight for the ultegra version, so if anyone happens to know the weight that would be helpful.

I actually had a 2014 Izalco Max, but I don’t think much had changed between the years. One of the best bikes I’ve ridden. Crazy light frameset(sub 1000g), predictable and neutral handling which was nice for racing, comfortable on longer rides (longest I went on this bike was 115miles and it was super nice the whole time)
I only sold mine because I had an opportunity to buy a moots and I can’t pass up a moots.

No rides on the Izalco but I did get some time on the Mares CX 105 and it was quite a nice ride. Granted it was a CX bike on the road so it felt really nice having wider tires and a more compliant carbon frame and a little bit more upright geo.
However if a Moots comes along, I would go with a Moots. That is why I built up the Foundry Chilkoot, Ti is a good buy and if I could have gone with a Moots at the time I would have done so but the budget wouldn't have allowed for Moots Ti and Di2 so I went with a nice closeout Ti frame on QBP
