Mounting rear Derailleur
I have a shimano XT M-8000 on the way and was perusing thru the manual and see that there are two ways to mount it to the dropout. For those who are familiar with this Derailleur which one is the best?

So since it can be mounted either way it makes no difference, I can use it either way.

O.K. I went out and looked at it and it looks like a direct mount but here is a pic.

Note the relative positions of the axle and derailleur hanger holes near the bottom of the linked article for your answer.

On some bike using the direct drop out mount, I have found that some times to keep the hi/low limit screws pretty much equal I have had to put a washer under the derailleur.
