Vintage Handlebars
Let me talk about my bike fit, in general. I've always wanted to get a proper fitting, but I haven't ever, although I am really comfy the way I have it. I rode a 58cm bike for a while, and was so happy to get back to a small frame.
My inseam is 84cm, and my height is 181.5cm
Bicycle is 51cm C-C (horizontal top tube), and top tube length is 53.5cm C-C.
I like having the seat adjusted all the way back, as I find the cantilevered seat rails adds a suspension effect. I tilt my seat nose up, so I actually sit on the ergo area of the seat (otherwise I end up riding on the nose). With the nose pointing up, the sitting spot on the seat is actually horizontal when sitbones apply pressure. I have a setback seatpost pointed FORWARD. 172.5mm crank and a plum line through my knee passes through the pedal axis (actually, a little forward of it, because my shoe cleats are mounted closer to the heel than standard).
I like the long stem (100cm), because when I walk the bicycle, I can hold it with my fist on the stem. Add to that the long reach handlebars.
I really like my handlebars. Unfortunately, a year after being squeezed between an SUV and a bus, they failed. I really liked resting my forearms on the handlebars, holding the brake hoods in my fists, as if I had aero bars (relaxing on the triceps). I could do this, because they have 125mm of reach (plus the ultegra brifters).
They are 36cm center to center, and have a 125mm reach. 25.4mm clamp. I am having a hard time finding a replacement.

A internal sleeve inside and an external one out side is how Bike friday makes handlebars that intentionally split in 2 , But..
the Improvising-fabricator in me suggests you can use a liner sleeve and then get an Oversize stem to grip the new larger outer one
and then what you broke may Live again .
not wanting to but Shop?
Randonneur bend bars are much narrower on the tops than the drops , but size still from the open end width
the Specialized-Nitto ones on my Mid 8o's Expedition touring bike were a '46' but the top was more like a 38
the ramp reach is rather long..

Just peruse the online catalogs, looking for long ramps. You will probably have to get a new stem, since clamp diameters have increased.

I ended up getting Randonneur style ones, that are 40cm at the drops, and 36cm at the hoods. I prefer narrow because I need to squeeze between cars in NYC traffic (or get squeezed). After researching, I think my favorites are Nitto Noodle. I would prefer Noodles, but I got what was available from The Bike Truck, which I found on craigslist. They were $15. I think I saw Nitto Noodles for $80 online, and some other options on Ebay for $30.
