55 miles round trip, usually two days a week. But I'm sick and have missed my last two rides, and will miss at least one more. I'm working my way up to four times per week.

By direct route, it's an 8 mile round trip.

15 miles r/t if I go the direct route and use the MUP.
17 miles r/t if I take the roads and get some extra hills.
19.5 miles r/t if I take the flat roads home to avoid climbing the big hill when I'm tired.

To work and back home: ~6 miles by direct routes. I can stretch that to 9 if I take the lake to and from work.

If I'm visiting my daughter it's ~3 to work, about 8 miles to her house and 10mi. back home, adding 12miles to the "commutes" those days. If I forget stuff for my visit, I have to go home then head out, which is 3mi. home, then 20 there and back. These are not the shortest, but easiest/most direct that I prefer, if I rode without a time pressure, then I'd go by the lake and that'd be longer but much more pleasant (in summer anyway ).

So basically my ride to work and back is short as heck, but my life commitments mean I typically ride much more than just my work commute.

Lots of impressive figures there, guys! I'm proud of ya.

Been commuting for about five years every day. When I started, my commute was real short at 3 miles round trip. Did that for two years. Then I moved, and my commute was 14 miles round trip (at night). Did that for a year and a half. Got transferred, and my commute changed to 8 miles round trip for about 6 months, also at night. Got transferred again, and now my commute is 26 miles round trip.

~ oh the life a bike commuter

12 miles round trip, uphill both ways.

I typically extend the morning ride though once I'm in the area of my destination. It's just too hard to get off the thing to get to work.

33K RT the short way

Sometimes if I feel like it I go the long way home and that makes it a 60K RT but only sometimes

9 mile RT in northern NJ. My house is on a hill and my job is on a hill, so I always start cold going downhill and end up sweaty finishing the ride. Been communting now solidly for 4 months and just turned over 900 miles on my new bike (Specialized Globe) I bought in August 2007. Lost 25 pounds withoput trying and love the bike commute!

49 or 50 miles RT 4 days/week. Gave up on the optional 60-mile RT a long time ago.

Since I moved into my apartment to be close enough to walk, my commute is only 3mi RT. But it is far more fun to ride by bicycle (even though my 1.5mi return home is 300 ft elevation gain). I may be whistling a different tune now that my last class ends at 6:45 PM and will be very cold and dark, but I doubt it.

I have numerous versions.
The 3 main ones are:
1) The rare I want to ride home but not to work because it is freaking cold: .5 mile bike 30 miles bus \ light rail. I rode this one this morning.
2) The standard winter commute length (I have 2 versions of this one): 14-15 miles each way.
3) Summer full length commute: 56 miles RT.

Due to the fact that I would rather ride on the weekend and with a group of friends on Tues and Thursday #3 is not going to be the primary commute next summer unlike last summer. Probably #2.
Also, I work from home two days a week. Consequently, the largest # of days I ride to work is 3.

42.5 miles (2500' climbing) each way. I will commute 2-3 times (full 85 miles) in the spring and summer. Not so much in the winter.
