It appears to have a Huret Alvet (intro. '58) RD and Simplex Competition (intro. '47) FD. I would guess that it's not totally original; it also appears to have mounts for a chain guard, so maybe an old Tourist model converted in the 1950's for derailleurs?
It has the ball end seat stays which were an early feature according to Waterford but early Paramount records were destroyed in 1948 so it may be impossible to determine the year. Personally, I don't think the asking price is ridiculous.

The conversion is also pretty interesting. One supposes it had those fittings on the rear ends for fenders ? (Unsure on that supposition.)
2,000 bucks is a lot of money to start a restoration before you do anything else.

First off remember that stem goes for around $500 on the big pirate site. Probably not a 6 day bike with chain gaurd and fender tabs. Still, keyhole lugs and a few correct bits the price is not that far out of line if you want one of these, if you had to have one of these and went looking for one you would be lucky to find this at this price. @Kactus is correct, Nothing ridiculous about this price.

Brazed on tabs for fenders/rack? Hmmm.
I would have to double check they were not silver soldiered onto the chrome. Curious I think.
I do not recognize the rims and schrader valves... more curiousness.

I can't offer a price or additional group information, but antique shops almost always will bargin..especially with a price tag like that, cash will be your friend.

It's been converted to a racer with saddle, drop bar, adjustable stem, derailleurs and double plateau crankset. Designed for 26 x 1-1/4" wheels, which may be OEM, along with the brakeset.

Change the rack or give to the shop and bring money in 50's you'll be good to go, I always bargain at an antique store but ask to speak to the owner of the booth directly.!

I think you guys need to take off the rose colored glasses and take a hard look at this bike. #465 is probably a 1954. It’s a tourist model frame (has Tabs for chain gard) It only has 2/3 of its Brooks seat and I don’t think it is the right one for a Tourist. It’s missing it’s chrome fenders, it’s Schwinn branded brakes, it’s chrome Schwinn scripted crank set with PARAMOUNT stamps on the sides, the BB axle with Schwinn stamped in the center, the chrome and matching paint chain gard, the stem and handlebars stamped Schwinn. The pedals and probably other things

The day I created this post I reached out to them and threw out an offer below the $2000 asking price.
They politely told me 'no thanks, we've received 7 full price offers and had the American Picker guys tell us to hold onto it and they'd buy it for considerably more when they were out in Colorado next spring'
Now they're asking 5K?
