What bike is this?

Hi all,

My brother-in-law gave my grandson (15) this BMX bike that was near his transmission shop in Turlock, CA a few years ago. It is a BMX style bike with a broken/bent fork tube (the top threads are broken off and mostly missing.
I would like to repair the fork tube as it has a unique design to it (photo coming). We are finally putting the bike together.

So, I would like to know the make/model of this bike. The serial number stamped on the crank housing is JL21012323. Does anybody know what this bike is? Or is there a database site I can cross reference the serial number? Mongoose?

Does anybody know of a good bike repair shop in San Jose, CA? I was thinking about splicing in a good fork tube with threads and welding it appropriately.

Thanks for all info!!

Probably best to go to bmxmuseum and check out bikes there, the pictures you posted don't really show enough for me.
