Been lurking for a bit, usually post in Road Cycling forum.

Apologies if this is the wrong posting protocol.
Classic Vintage has the Frame Pass Around Thread, and SSFG has the Trade only thread.

I bought this Kilo TT several years ago and initially enjoyed it as my fitness bike, doing 16 mi. loops in FG. Big Fun.
I now ride 16/18/24/30 mile loops on my multi speed Allez for fitness, and enjoy that as well.

I bought the Kilo before I understood frame sizing, and the bikesdirect webpage wasn't what I'd call crystal clear.

The bike is still in excellent shape, but I'd like to ask your advice on obtaining a frame closer to a conventional 56/57/58cm fit.
I'm 73"tall, 34" cycling inseam, with average legs to torso proportions.

Ideally, I could locate/trade for the correct sized Kilo TT frame and transfer all the current parts to it.

Was the point of your posts to determine the size of your frameset, or to trade for a replacement in the right size? Sorry to burst your bubble but its bound to be much easier to sell your old frame than finding a trading partner who needs the size you have, and who has the size you want.

So if you are really stuck on having a Kilo - IMHO your best bet is to go to Bike Island. They have several of the differently finished models of that frame there ranging from $190 - $225. Then you can get on with swapping the bits and enjoying riding...

I'd try a shorter stem. The one in the picture looks like it's 120mm. Maybe try a 100mm. It only costs about $20.

A shorter stem would possibly be a good short term fix.

Longer term, I'd like to reduce the stand over height.
So, yeah, I'm frame shopping.

Looking at the picture, I wouldn't have guessed you had a problem with standover height, given the amount of exposed seatpost.

I think if you do go to a smaller frame, you might have a problem getting the bars as high as you'd like since you have a fair amount of spacers in there now.

I'd bet a dollar the saddle is too high. But yeah, IAmSam is right -- find a tall person to sell it to and buy one in your size.

Currently 32" from crank spindle to top of saddle.
According to Lemond's ".883 x inseam" it should be 30".

Once the roads here clear a bit I'll give that a try.
