The cool thing about the baby blue madisons is that they're completely chromed. My friend stripped his, and it looks BALLIN!

I need to bring my frame to work and pull a wheel off a bike that has 35s on it. Things are pretty hectic so far this week but I'll do it soon.

I originally wanted to strip the paint but the blue grew on me real quick. I love it.

nycbikesnob once insulted the madison and its never been the same

but i rode around my hood tonight on it (i have a week off from school so it was a welcome home ride) and my endomondo (https://www.endomondo.com, add to your phone then add me!) said i did 12 miles in 30 minutes, averaging 26 mph. buuuuull poop, more like 9 miles at 18 mph...

I remember that. He took a pic of a blue Madison locked to something and made some comment about how he didn't feel so bad about what he was riding (or something) right?

Nice bike! Love the tires, I need some like that!
Do you like it better than your Kilo? I do.

Here is my last picture. It now has speedplay zero pedals and Nitto bullhorns with the same black leather tape and Conti GP4000 25c tires

Thanks DB! Some people have complained about how heavy Madisons are but I like it WAY better than my Kilo. It just feels better - the geo, size, sturdiness, etc.

I also dig that it's kind of an 'oddball' bike.

Around 1980, I was stealing my brother's Traveler on a regular basis. I have nothing against Schwinn.

And welcome to the other side.

It is my belief that Schwinn has hired some cool people to design bikes that were actually able to sneak one past the powers that be that insist on selling Wal-mart quality bikes. That the paint job wasn't some overdone skate board theme with humongous SCHWINN logos all over the place is just amazing.

And thanks to a higher power they didn't put a crotch polisher on it like this:

Ugh...is that a Felt?

It's definitely true that there seems to be two separate Schwinns these days. The overall quality of my Madison frame & fork is just as good as (if not better than) my Kilo.
