What did you just buy for your gravel bike?

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

What did you just buy for your gravel bike?

Got them today. Pics coming when there is weather fir for bike riding.

A) Their bars are rated for offroad use. Aerobars no issue.

B) Their wing bar has the axis of the wing at kind of a hinky angle WRT the bottom-flat of the hooks.

As for the Flare25....Only thing I raise an eyebrow at in mounting it is the lack of a cable-channel indent on the tubing.

Can you measure how wide the clamping section is on the wing bar for me? The par that is the full 31.8 before it transitions to the wing area?

Got myself a little front rack that mounts to the canti posts to support a little handlebar bag for those longer mileage rides. It's a cheap rack and nothing special, but I'm super excited about it. Lends a "mad max" vibe to the whole whip. Now if only I could bring myself to shell out the money to replace my perfectly good black tires with some skin wall tires!

Just ordered some NEXT wheels for my new (Used) Slate. Bought all the same trick TRP Di2 stuff I had on my grey Slate that was just given to my GF.

Going to duplicate that build, but thinking of an e*Thirteen 9-44 cassette this time around.

I got these customized bar end caps. I had to order 2 separate sets to get the combination, so I have a 2nd pair.

XTR rear 11-40 cassette and some red chinese sharktooth thingee to give the original 11-34 cassette a little more low end.

Wanted to go lower and keep it as clean as possible. So I just ordered GRX 810 48-31 chain set and GRX 810 front derailleur for my Trek Checkpoint SL6. It came with Ultegra compact and 11-34. I'm keeping the rear derailleur and cassette for now, the new setup should be low enough. But I can change the RD and go with a 11-40 if needed.

Shock Stop stem

IronM
Curious to hear your feedback as I have a couple friends who have tried it and I would like to add but not lose any control over gravel ir single track.

Post pics too (if you can)!

Added the Ass-Saver ToeTector and BroTector to my SKS Speedrocker fender set. With the stock setup, I wasn't getting much toe-spray, but definitely seeing some rooster-spray to the rear. These will definitely help cut down on that, and provide additional coverage that I think the Speedrockers really should have had to begin with.

Stock Speedrockers

Speedrockers with ToeTector and BroTector
(https://ass-savers.com/)

The BroTector is most likely angled out more than intended, but because the rear Speedrocker fender is so short, there really isn't a way around that.

GRX 800 1x11 group. The group came with an SLX 11-42 but I bought an XT 11-46 to use with it and I'll probably sell the 11-42.

I bought new wheels, last ones were old and after I fell down last month slipping on some mud were not as used to be in the beginning. But if I wanted to ride, I had to buy something. But I bought some wheels I am really happy about now, Grail MK3. They are really good ones I am very happy about my purchase.

Had to replace SRAM/AVID rotors, were worn and always squealed like a turkey. Had some 160/160 Shimano Rt81 that were almost new, but bike had 140 post mount in rear, so bought a SRAM adapter bracket. Force 1 works well with these Shimano rotors, no more turkey gobble.

Also put on some Vittoria Terreno Zero TNT 32mm, since I am mostly riding pavement these days.

Mavic Allroad Pro UST CL disc

So I did not want to 7x30 option, as well my choice would be 32 gp5000 in that size. I also think I'd rather have the 40 MSO tubeless, yet I decided that I'd order the 700x40 and give the Yksion XL a try. Well a good deal came up for the 700x35 Yksion.

I am super glad I did the 35c option! More than likely I think it will be a nice compromise for my riding. First thing I did was unseat the tire, It unseats by hand! very nice! Floor pump, will it seat, yes it does!!!!!

Price? $847 after conversion. I did get nailed with import duty , but I still paid less than I would anywhere else. If can even find them anywhere available. A shop in NY has them, but I am not going to support NYC area with commerce. so 2020 1610 Gram, no rim tape, no rim holes, straight pull. I had my heart on Carbon wheels, yet I keep hearing how Aluminum can be forgiving. The wheels they will replace are 1900gram Stan's Grail wheels.

yea yea ..... the tire is mounted backwards, I guess that is the Mavic way So I'll roll with it, and see what I think.
