Ghost pedaling

Video of the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfKQ...ature=youtu.be

Hi guys, I'm experiencing some ghost pedaling as per the video above and my rear wheel isn't giving me my satisfying clicks when freewheeling anymore... is this cause for concern?

Thanks!

If you aren't having any real issues, why worry? Most of us will be happy to have a quiet hub. Wait till it gives you some actual trouble, then fix it.

Have you lubed the FW/cassette with a thin oil recently? It looks like it is need of either a lube or thinner lube and because of that isn't rotating freely. Now with the wheel spinning, bearing drag in the Fw means it is being spun, hence the chain and crankset and many few clicks are happening because not many pawls are sliding past the ratchet.

We used to lay the wheel on a table, FW up, then spin the FW as we poured light lube (good old 3 in 1 oil being a favorite of some). Keep spinning and pouring until we saw oil coming out the bottom/hub side. It's not quite as simple with a cassette because doing that probably will wash some grease out of the rightside hub bearing (unless it has good seals) but the cassette body will love it. Edit: I do this with my cassette wheels and just figure that the hub bearings will tell me when they are lo longer happy and I'll just replace them.
