I had a couple flats last weekend. So two tubes for the tandem (700 x 28).

I also picked up a few water bottles.
2 specialized hydroflos w\o any insulation and 1 camelbak podium ice water bottle for those hot summer days when I want to keep water cold and frozen longer.

I had an eighties Raleigh Marathon. Loved that bike.

Cobbled together from Motobecane and Kestrel Parts
BikeIsland (a website that seems to re-sell returned BD bikes) had a listing for a Motobecane Le Champion SL that had its SRAM RED etap drive train removed and no handlebars. It did have DT Swiss PR1600 wheels, Ritchey tires, stem, seatpost, saddle, and probably the most valuable thing, a SRAM Red 22 crankset. I had some Oval bars from a Fuji, DA9000 shifters, derailleurs, bought some 105 brakes, and had a a Kestrel 55mm carbon aero wheelset laying around (I don't know what brand makes it, but its extremely nice, weighs about 1850g). My local bike shop has a great mechanic who knows and appreciates what this bike is and I always give them business.
It fits well and I love it. Weighs 16.5lbs with Ultegra pedals, carbon water bottle cage, SRAM Garmin mount. I always wanted aero wheels on a light bike. I also upped the crank to 52/36. Rode in the cold (about 22 to 25F) this morning.

After being out of stock pretty much everywhere for a while, solid seat post mounts for the Varia are back and now at ~$20 bucks. Ordered one for myself from Treefort (free shipping, no tax [for me, at least]) -

I've wanted to get one of these, but I want to hang at the bottom of the seatpost. How much extension is there toward the rear (eg. vs. the rubber thing it came with)? I'm worried it wont clear the seatpost clamp bolt area.

I looked at that when I got my Varia and almost pulled the trigger. I ended up getting a mount from BupLabs.

I bought several things in preparation for next season.
1. Two pairs of Kapvoe TR90 glasses. You can get them from Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/KAPVOE-Polari...729432936&th=1 or on Aliexpress for about $20. These have very high quality lenses and frames, they're not bootlegs and I find the shape to be just about perfect for my face. I also like how they look, they basically steal aspects from all the the most common larger designs right now but they're not too overly "space guy" looking. I have a philosophical problem spending $200+ on glasses and I like to own lots of different pairs. These are a great option for me. I also like Goodr glasses for similar reasons.
2. K-Edge Pro Garmin combo mount. Ridiculously overpriced by very strong and just about a perfect design for a non-integrated computer mount.
3. A few pairs of Handup summer gloves. I prefer to wear full finger gloves on the road and these are perfect. Very thin and breathable but durable and grippy. Also washable.
4. A Kask Valegro helmet. IMO, higher end Kask helmets are the best road helmets you can get. I also have the Utopia. Great fit, low profile, great ventilation, great straps and the best build quality you can find.

J. A. Stein Stronglight crank arm puller/extractor. I haven't received it yet, but it looks far better than the original Stronglight made ones.
