May 2nd and May 31st. With the triathlon crash over the past several years (even before 2020) the schedule here hollowed out in the hottest part of summer, so there's a distinct "early" and "late" season.

Did the wipers help? I hate driving on wet nights because in my car it's hard to see the lines, but I don't think that's from the lights being wet.

Every so often I get a quixotic desire to own a classic car. Not one of the ones people generally think of, like E-types or Corvettes. No, I want one of those big, so-ugly-it's-beautiful Chrysler Imperials from the early 60s, with headlights on stalks, and fins, and bullet taillights. They're just so emblematic of that era, when we did everything BIG! and OUTRAGEOUS!
Then I think about the cost to maintain, or god forbid restore, a car as old as I am, and where would I find the space? And where would I drive it?

Nice ride today and I had BBQ chicken pizza at the break. Friend paid again for the three of us. A bit of a load in the stomach for the 22 mile ride back to the start but boy did it taste good.

Headlights can get also dirty, like after the rain stops and you're driving the freeway with a lot of trucks on it, and they've sanded the freeway recently for instance. Good time to run the wipers to keep that grimy water wiped off the lenses.
