Hi from Northern Illinois

Hi my name is Don. I've been biking since '84. My first bike was a very tall 27" Raleigh Marathon that I bought for $300 after high school (forest green and gold with stem shifters and those useless safety brakes). It was my first love and got me started cycling. Used it in college for several years, but I started riding in groups and moved over to an '87 Cannondale criterium w/ 105. One of my favorites, but that stiff ride was tolerable only for a young body. :-) The next summer I picked up an '87 Cannondale SM500 mountain bike and enjoyed the aspects of exploring off road. I kept those 2 bikes for 32 years, but I slowed down as I got older with some health issues and family.
But every time I got out, I rediscovered the joy of riding. I got back into it a few years ago, but at a different pace now. Looking to do some bike touring with my college buddy this year.

Current bikes -
1985 Cannondale ST500
1987 Cannondale ST400 (my touring bike)
1990 (ish) Zunow Z-1
2004 Lemond Zurich Triple
2008 Dahon Speed P8
