I like that. I like to say "the car didn't owe me a dime".
I had an 86 S-10 Blazer for 18 years. Paid $2800 for it and sold it for $500 with almost 300K miles on it. I worked on it a little and had to put a transmission in it once.
The last 5 or 6 years I stopped maintaining it. No oil changes, nothing. It started leaking coolant and I just added water until it pissed rusty water everywhere it went. It refused to die. One day a trade-in showed up at the dealer where I worked and I bought it for $2750 (still have it, 7 years now) so I parked the S-10 in my yard. Some guy saw it there and he had to have it. I told him it needed a lot of work but he wanted it anyway, so I sold it to him. I saw him driving it for a few years until I moved from there.

4 motorcycles; 2 Hondas, 2 Moto Guzzi's
Only 5 bicycles unless you count the ones cobbled together from bits as a kid.

8 cars: 2 still owned, 1 donated to KPBS, 1 totaled by my elder son (not his fault), 1 sold, 2 given to needy relatives, 1 stolen (1976 Pinto Squire wagon, 17 years old at the time (!) )
at least 12-15 bikes: 2 bought new, rest either given to me or bought used; still have about 8 of them

11 cars/trucks/vans/SUVs. At least 13 bicycles.
I got married before I could get a motorcycle. Were I to ever have a motorcycle, the tally likely would be 1 car, 6 bikes, 1 motorcycle and 1 wheelchair or casket.

The bikes are much easier to count than cars.
I've owned 9 bikes in the last 46 years - one in college, no idea what happened to it - probably parked it at a friend's house and forgot where I left it, one from college (1978) to 2010 (still have it), seven since then with two lost to crashes. Current count 6.
Over the same time frame, a Dodge, a Triumph, five BMWs, two Volvos, three Subarus, two Toyotas, a Nissan, an Audi, two Fords, a Mercury, a Merkur (good choice that), an Acura, an Isuzu, and a Mercedes. So 23 unlessI'm missing some. Current count 2.
In my world, cars are disposable. Bicycles are members of the family.

In the past 25 years 2 cars. In the previous 15 years no cars. In the 30 plus years before that 5 cars. Lived in Brooklyn during the gap. No car needed.
I’ve owned two bikes in the last three years. None for the previous 50+. And before that the usual array of bikes from a large wheeled (16”) trike as a little kid through a WWII surplus folding paratrooper bike I learned on up through the various sizes until my teenage 3 speed Raleigh that got doomed and ruined, my last bike at 16.

Household number for the two of us: 2 cars (one driver & one classic/collector); 11 bikes (all bikes are in ride-condition and used regularly), and 2 new ones on order .... Wait, do we count tandems as one bike or two Of the 11 bikes, one is a tandem; and one bike on order is a tandem too.
Cars: 6 cars, 9 bikes
... Kinda proud to say of those 9 bikes, I still have 6; plus 1 is my daughter's bike; and 1 is with my brother-in-law. The only bike I've totally gotten rid of was a cracked frame on my winter commuter, I scrapped the frame and swapped parts to my kid's winter bike.

Favorite past cars 73 Capri V6, 72 and 73 911s. Total cars 11 (have a ‘71 914-6), bikes 6 and holding
Have only bought 2 of those cars new. I let others take the depreciation hit for me.

Right now it is one pickup, one LWB bent, and one trike.
But over the years it is 20 cars and 5 bikes and one trike.

I've modded almost every car/truck/whatever I've ever had since my very first, a '74 Karmann Ghia in 1987. So I tend to do my thing, sell them and repeat the process.....
Lifetime:
~30 cars including 1 pickup, and 3 or 4 SUV/off-roaders
2 motorcycles
~10 bicycles, 3-4 BMX, couple mountain and the rest road bikes
Current:
2 daily drivers and 2 classics
3 road bikes but hoping to get one more, 2 old-school BMX, 1 Trek MTB I got new in '95

17 vehicles, not counting 3 motorcycles. I have 10 bikes on hand presently, and probably 15 more owned over the years.

Huh. I owned a car once in my 20s ... then moved to California. I won't count the car that came with my wife, but after that there have been six more. So, seven cars, and seven bikes, near as I can recollect. One was a junker that's not in my "Bikes" list over <---- there. And I have another to add, so, yeah, I'm at 1:1.
Oops, forgot about a couple of those. So, I'm more at 7:9 ratio of cars to bikes.

I had to scratch my head long and hard on this one, also look through old photos to jog my memory.
24 cars, 56 bicycles, 2 motorcycles, and a moped. Maybe 3 of the bicycles don't count because they were framesets that passed through my hands but were never built into complete bikes.
I have owned bikes from the U.S. Canada, Austria, Italy, England, Mexico, Japan, France, and Belgium.

Four cars, one sailboat, and seven bikes that were purchased specifically for me during my so far 63 years of life. I tend to hold on to cars till they are totally worthless, bikes too I suppose. My current motor vehicle is 23 years old.
My wife drives nicer though, but we aren't counting stuff we buy for others are we? <grin>

I am 56. I have bought one car for myself, which I still own. The other car I bought for my mom back in '95, Shed eventually transferred title to me some time in the late 2000s, when it was no longer safe for her to drive.
I have owned at least 17 bikes.

It amazes me that guys in their 50's and 60's have only owned a couple of cars in their lifetime, unless I'm reading their posts wrong. Kudos to you guys for not buying into the new car financial pit. I can't say the same as it is my only financial weakness. I'm 53 and I think I've owned 18 to 20 cars in my adult life plus 2 that my parents bought me in my youth. Add to that 10 motorcycles of both street and off road varieties. I can picture every bicycle I have owned in my adult life, and that number is 16. 10 mountain bikes and 6 road bikes. I always go through more mountain bikes because I'm so hard on them. Road bikes last me a bit longer, but I still ride those until there's little life left in them.
